It has\u0026nbsp;a side length of approx. 29 x 7-10 cm and is only 0.5 cm high. This flat plate is part of Akiko's \"Itazara\" series and has a narrow rim on the top and beveled edges on the back. These edges create a pleasant grip when carrying the plate.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eManufacturing process:\u003c\/strong\u003e For her \"Itazara\" (flat plate) series, Akiko cuts the clay into thin slabs and compresses them with a press to reduce air and minimize deformation. The clay is cut into shape using a template and the inner surface of the top is carefully carved, leaving a sharp, clean outer edge. On the back, all edges are beveled to create a comfortable grip for the fingers. Each piece is dried slowly and thoroughly to achieve a flat, stable shape.
