About the object: Kikuchi Torus bowl is approx. 8 cm high and has a diameter of 15 cm. The dark Japanese clay and the earthy glaze give the bowl a wonderful color, dark coffee brown, and unusual structure. The bowl is extremely decorative and can be used to store beautiful everyday items as well as food. This bowl is a unique piece.

Manufacturing process: Toru Kikuchi's pottery style is very special. He first chooses the weight of the clay and then starts making shapes as he comes up with them. The individual pieces in a series may be similar in weight, but they are often different in shape and never the same. His pieces are artistic, but also have a practical use as vases or bowls. Toru experiments with different glazes, which often leads to unexpected but beautiful results.

  • The bowls from Kikuchi Toru should be washed by hand. The vases are waterproof and should only be cleaned by hand if necessary. Use clear water or a maximum of gentle cleaning agents, a damp cloth and, if necessary, a soft brush. And never use abrasive sponges.
  • Dry the container carefully after cleaning to avoid water stains.
  • Ceramic pots can be rougher on the underside than pots made of other materials. We therefore recommend protecting sensitive surfaces on which the vessel is to stand from scratching if necessary.
