Who are we?
We, Kathrin and Thorsten Held, are behind haptik. We enjoy beautiful things, creativity, good conversations and spontaneous ideas and like to surround ourselves with people who feel the same way. The exchange and cooperation with our suppliers, the producers of individual, high-quality handcrafted products, gives us a lot of pleasure and is an enrichment for us. At haptik, it's not about large quantities, but about small, fine series or even individual pieces. And ideas that sometimes only emerge from good conversations.
We want to create marketplaces in which we can offer high-quality, functional art produced by people who can do it. People who are passionate about their craft. Crafts that were existential and commonplace in the past, are individual and unusual (luxury?) today and may be used naturally and sensibly again tomorrow. To produce everyday items that are durable and sustainable in the region and sell them to customers like you. Perhaps haptik can also help craftspeople to keep or get the opportunity
to see their profession not only as a vocation, but also to earn a good income. The opportunity to build up a business, train and pass on the fire. Independent, self-determined and financially successful.
haptik is available as a virtual marketplace at haptik.de. And from the beginning of 2024 also as a real marketplace in the old town of the beautiful fjord town of Flensburg, very close to the border with Denmark. Our store is located in the historic transverse warehouse of the Brasseriehof, a listed warehouse from the 19th century. There, haptik takes on another dimension - you can admire and even touch and feel our beautiful products. And of course we will also be there. What does haptics stand for?
haptik: haptic perception
refers to the tactile "grasping" in the literal sense of the word, i.e. the perception
through active exploration by touch.
At haptik, we work directly with passionate artisans and manufacturers to present you with unique and unusual favorite pieces made from ceramics, natural fibers, leather and wood. Our selected individual pieces and products from small and very small series are not only of high quality and, in our opinion, very beautiful, but above all functional and durable. Sustainable and appealing everyday objects. Looking good is one thing, but feeling good is at least as important. Things should have a good feel. And so the name was born. haptik - beautiful things for every day!
