Wakahiko Ishikawa, born in Tokyo in 1960 as the eldest son of a sculptor, moved to the ceramics town of Mashiko in Tochigi Prefecture in 1990. There he began his work as a ceramist. Today, Wakahiko still has his workshop and gallery "Waka Studio" in Mashiko. The gallery regularly hosts solo exhibitions and events at which Wakahiko Ishikawa's works are presented.
Wakahiko Ishikawa makes tableware, bowls and vases for everyday use. The colors of his works are rich in contrast and matt: very light, almost white, or very dark, almost black. Beautiful!
