The idea for haptik arose from the desire to make the arts and crafts accessible to more people. To understand the ideas of the artists on the one hand, but also the techniques that are required on the other. For example, how variations can be created, even though everything is actually done exactly the same way as always. The repeated attempts to achieve the desired object, a little smaller, a little higher, a little bluer. We want to offer lectures and workshops by various artists who can tell us from their experience how their works are created.
On the occasion of the European Arts and Crafts Days, our series of events on the subject of arts and crafts will begin with a lecture by Gundula Sommerer: A life with ceramics.
The trained art teacher and therapist is a freelance ceramicist and, after long stays in France, Mexico and the United States, now lives in Flensburg, where she runs the Tonart studio with Üze Oldenburg.
Gundula Sommerer will talk about various production techniques, surface designs and firing variations and explain them using examples.
The event will begin with a lecture on April 5, 2025 at 6 p.m. Gallery haptik in Flensburg, Grosse Strasse 42-44. Questions and discussions are expressly encouraged.
Please register at info@haptik.de. Admission is € 10,-
