About the object: Carolin Ludwig's glossy white glazed vase is approx. 17 cm high and has a diameter of approx. 18.5 cm. The shape of the bulbous vase with its slender foot is based on a classic amphora and its low center of gravity gives it amazing stability, especially when filled with water. Very beautiful with fresh or dried flowers, but also looks great without any floral decoration.
Manufacturing process: The vase is made from recycled mixed clays and is wheel-thrown by Caroline. It is glazed black on the inside and glossy white on the outside and fired at 1250°C.

Carolin grew up in the medieval ceramics town of Siegburg and after studying design and working as a photographer and photo editor at various publishing houses, she trained as a ceramicist. Art, design and nature have surrounded her for as long as she can remember and as a ceramicist she combines the various experiences from her multi-faceted life to date. "Clay," says Carolin, "is a medium that you never stop learning. A medium that constantly surprises you, opens up new possibilities and always grounds you. Brings you back to yourself. Teaches humility. Mindfulness. And slowness. Nothing happens quickly. Everything takes the time it needs. That's why I love it, the sound." Carolin lives and works in Hamburg, where she has been running her own studio CL.AY since April 2025.
