About the item: This hand-turned and carved wooden spatula sits perfectly in the hand and is a durable companion in the kitchen. With its length of 25 cm, the turner is up to any challenge. Wooden spatulas are gentle on the pan coating when stirring and turning. Thefinely sanded edge of the spatula effortlessly scrapes the base of the pan clean without scratching or damaging it during normal use. Should the edge become blunt one day, it can be reground or re-carved. This further increases the longevity and sustainability of this natural product.
Manufacture: The product is made from fruit or garden wood that comes almost exclusively from private gardens in the Bremen area, the surroundings of Hergen Böttcher's workshop. The wood dries for several years before the objects are worked out of the wood. Hergen Böttcher selects the wood individually for each object and turns and carves by hand in such a way by hand so that the special characteristics of the tree's life remain visible: Color changes between heartwood and sapwood as well as ingrown knots. Growths or natural discolorations can give the pieces unique structures. Deformations or cracks are signs of the drying process and are just as intentional as long as they do not impair the function of the object.
