The Machado weaving mill is the only textile company in Portugal that has been in continuous existence since 1921. Three men from Porto were responsible for opening the family business. They were inexperienced in weaving, but full of passion and idealism. In the beginning, no more than 15 people worked in the factory. Today, there are around 150 employees, many of whom are already in the second or third generation of the family. The family atmosphere is highly valued. Everyone knows everyone else, lunch is eaten together and the founder's great-granddaughter is involved in the business as an on-site doctor.
From the very beginning, the founders set out to produce only the very best home textiles. They committed themselves to using only high-quality materials and meticulous production techniques. One touch of the super-soft linen is enough to realize that, even after 100 years and into the fourth generation, nothing has changed.
Wiebke and John, the founders of By Native, have designed this great linen bedding and import it directly to Germany. We are so convinced of the quality that we want to offer these products as well.
