Wakahiko Ishikawa
About the object: Wakahiko Ishikawa’s round jar is approximately 6.5 cm tall and has a diameter of 8 cm. This delicate ceramic jar is made of high-quality Shigaraki clay—a white clay coated with a transparent glaze—and features a delicate wooden lid. The jar can be used as a storage container for tea, salt, sugar, or other small treasures, and is a one-of-a-kind piece.
Manufacturing process: Wakahiko Ishikawa creates tableware, bowls, and vases for everyday use. Whenever possible, the pieces are thrown on a potter’s wheel. Thanks to the use of glaze, the color of his works is consistently very light—almost white—or very dark—almost black. And matte.

- Wakahiko Ishikawa dishes should be washed by hand. Use clear water or at most gentle cleaning agents and no abrasive sponges.
- Dry the vessel carefully after cleaning to avoid water stains.
- Ceramic pots can be rougher on the underside than pots made of other materials. We therefore recommend protecting sensitive surfaces on which the jar is to be placed from scratching if necessary.
