  • Akiko Takahashi ceramics can be cleaned by hand or in the dishwasher if necessary. For hand washing, please use clear water and gentle detergents, a damp cloth and, if necessary, a soft brush.
  • Dry the ceramic carefully after cleaning to avoid water stains.
  • Akiko's ceramics are not suitable for the microwave or oven, as strong temperature fluctuations can damage the product.
  • Ceramics can be rougher on the underside than containers made of other materials. We therefore recommend protecting sensitive surfaces on which the ceramic is to stand from scratching if necessary.

Akiko Takahashi

Akiko Takahashi is a Japanese ceramist who runs her small ceramics studio called Yanasan Kobo in Yanaka, a quieter part of Tokyo. Akiko designs and makes each of her ceramics at her workplace, which is just the size of "four tatami mats" (approx. 6 square meters). Akiko Takahashi has been making pottery since her primary school days and the reason why she still does it today is simple: working and shaping the clay with her own hands and holding a finished object in her hands at the end is what motivates Akiko.

Akiko writes: "I want my objects to bring moments of discovery and joy to those who use them. Not only functionality, but also inspiration."
