About the object: This oval glass vase by Barbara Ebner von Eschenbach delights with its unusual shape and vibrant green color. The handmade vase is approx. 17 cm high, 15 cm wide, approx. 8 cm deep and weighs approx. 1.2 kg. The regular pattern of the vases gives each piece an individual look. Small irregularities in the shape and color nuances result from the manual production method. Each vase is unique and hand-signed by Barbara Ebner von Eschenbach (BEvE).

Manufacturing process: Barbara Ebner von Eschenbach produces vessels and unique pieces according to her own design from the molten glass mass in an elaborate manufacturing process at a glass melting furnace heated to approx. 1200 °C. To produce a glass object, molten glass is removed from the glass melting furnace with the glassmaker's pipe, shaped and worked with various glassmaking tools and blown with lung power. The glass mass is colored during the manufacturing process with colored glass powder or colored cones. Barbara Ebner von Eschenbach obtains the colored glass for her glass objects from the Reichenbach colored glassworks in Lusatia. She uses various glassmaking techniques to create color gradients or patterns in the glass. After the final shaping of a glass object in the glass melting furnace, it is placed in the cooling furnace while still hot and slowly cooled from 510° Celsius to room temperature. As soon as the glass products have cooled down, some of them are processed by grinding the base.
