About the property: Douglas Black threw this bowl, made of Japanese clay, on the potter’s wheel in his studio—located in a wooded area near Mashiko, Tochigi Prefecture—and coated it with white glaze. The bowl has a diameter of just under 24 cm and is nearly 9 cm tall. It’s perfect as a serving bowl for rice, noodles, and salad, as well as for soups. As a ramen bowl, it’s almost too large if you’re only a little hungry. We also carry a similar bowl by Douglas, though it has a darker, almost black glaze.
