This bundle consists of two pasta plates and two ring bowls from the "Grey" ceramic tableware series by Valentin Alscher and Grisella Kreiterling. The tableware is hand-thrown from gray clay in Hamburg and only coated with a light glaze on the inside. Robust, sustainable, handmade and simply beautiful! Production: The clay is fired at 1250 °C. This produces stoneware clay, which is much firmer than stoneware clay with firing temperatures below 1200 °. This makes the handmade ceramic ideal for the dishwasher and much firmer in texture. If knocked, the edges do not chip so quickly. If at all.

Valentin Alscher, born in 1966, and Grisella Kreiterling, born in 1971, live and work in St. Pauli. Valentin Alscher studied fine art at the HfbK Hamburg under the sculptor Bogomir Ecker, Grisella Kreiterling obtained her diploma in product design at the HfbK.
Clay in its own materiality and color characterizes the outer skin of the couple's ceramics, as they only glaze the inside of their vessels transparently. Unagitated and pure in their formal language, they turn the ceramics freely on the wheel. The double firing turns the clay into stoneware, making the ceramics resilient and impact-resistant.
