2 x pasta plates, 2 x ring bowls

This bundle consists of two pasta plates and two ring bowls from the ceramic tableware series by Valentin Alscher and Grisella Kreiterling, one each in the "Grey" and "Black" versions. The tableware is hand-thrown from clay in Hamburg and only glazed on the inside with a light-colored glaze. Robust, sustainable, handmade and simply beautiful! Production: The clay is fired at 1250 °C. This produces stoneware clay, which is much firmer than stoneware clay with firing temperatures below 1200 °. This makes the handmade ceramic ideal for the dishwasher and much firmer in texture. If knocked, the edges do not chip so quickly. If at all.

  • The dishes are dishwasher-safe, but can of course also be washed by hand. In this case, please use gentle cleaning agents and no abrasive sponges.
  • Dry the dishes carefully after cleaning to avoid water stains.
  • Please do not use in the oven or microwave, as rapid temperature fluctuations can cause the ceramic dishes to crack.
  • Ceramic pots can be rougher on the underside than pots made of other materials. We therefore recommend protecting sensitive surfaces on which the vessel is to stand from scratching if necessary.

Valentin Alscher / Grisella Kreiterling

Valentin Alscher (*1966) and Grisella Kreiterling (*1971) live and work in St. Pauli. Valentin Alscher studied fine art at the HfbK Hamburg under the sculptor Bogomir Ecker. Grisella Kreiterling earned her diploma in product design at the HfbK.

Clay in its own materiality and color characterizes the outer skin of the couple's ceramics, as Grisella Kreiterling and Valentin Alscher only glaze the inside of their ceramics transparently. Unagitated and pure in their formal language, they turn the ceramics freely on the wheel. The clay is fired twice to produce stoneware, which makes the ceramics resilient and impact-resistant, which is a necessary characteristic when used in the catering industry.
This makes Grisella and Valentin's tableware not only straightforward and simply beautiful, but also robust and durable.
